visual Dependent. Incognito, an almost-perfect replica of Shadow the Hedgehog, except greenish-grey instead of red and with green cat eyes. He has no mouth and he must scream. At full power, a lava rock/quartz crystalline hedgehog.

aural Voiced by Robbie Daymond. Tends to sound grandiose and dramatic.

demeanor Affably evil. A mastermind: he prides himself on being three steps ahead, doing whatever it takes to make sure his plans come to fruition. Bitter, resentful of the world that created him. Occasionally willing to extend an olive branch, but almost never to the other person's benefit (let's burn the world to the ground together).

Mephiles was the result of an experiment gone awry, an attempt to harness the power of the god Solaris. In attempting to contain him, he was fragmented into two beings: Iblis, the Flames of Disaster, and Mephiles the Dark. A time-travelling Shadow sealed Mephiles away within the Scepter of Darkness but unwittingly released him ten years later. Mephiles painstakingly planned out his revenge, eventually culminating in rejoining with Iblis to form Solaris once again.
Unfortunately, this victory was short-lived, as Sonic, Shadow, and Silver defeated Solaris and travelled back in time to prevent Solaris's fragmentation in the first place. Since then, Mephiles has existed in quantum uncertainty, both alive and not, once able to break free before Shadow sealed him away again.
